Top Man Utd transfer target ‘very angry’ over ‘blocked’ move as Ten Hag fears ‘hijack’
Benjamin Pavard has become ‘very angry’ at Bayern Munich’s refusal to entertain offers from Manchester United for his services.
The Red Devils are on the lookout for a new centre-back with Erik ten Hag hoping to move Harry Maguire on to a new club this summer.
West Ham recently pulled out of a £30m transfer for Maguire, who was recently replaced as Man Utd skipper by Bruno Fernandes, after getting frustrated at waiting for an answer from the England international.
Pavard has emerged as the Red Devils’ top target if Maguire does leave with Man Utd having their first offer turned down for the France international.
The 27-year-old is said to be ‘very open’ to joining Man Utd this summer and has even reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with the Premier League side.
However, French newspaper L’Equipe claimed yesterday that a move is ‘blocked’ because of Maguire’s failure to secure a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

There have also been reports that Inter Milan are attempting to hijack a move for Pavard despite his preference to move to Man Utd.
And now Bild journalist Christian Falk has explained how Pavard is now pushing for a move to Man Utd, even holding a meeting with Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, after becoming “very angry” at the situation.
German reporter Falk wrote in his Caught Offside column: “Benjamin Pavard is very disappointed with Bayern. From his view, he’s always said he wanted to leave this summer and he won’t sign a new contract, and he thought if an offer came through he would be allowed to leave.
“When Manchester United knocked at the door of Bayern, they refused to negotiate. They didn’t even talk about money at this point, which was why Pavard was very angry. The club saw that and he let the club feel that. You might have seen his posts on Instagram regarding the matter.
“At the moment, United don’t know if Bayern will sell him. They have to make an offer and they have to be wary of Inter Milan potentially hijacking the deal – the Italian giants have made an offer of €25m but it’s not enough for Bayern who want €30m minimum.
“Pavard was recently at the office of CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen to inform him of his desire to leave Bayern this summer.”
