Valencia manager Marcelino says that defender Joao Cancelo has a future with the Spanish club.

Cancelo has been linked with a host of sides this summer, with Juventus thought to be interested in the right-back.

Tottenham are also thought to be fans of the 23-year-old – although reports in the Daily Mail stated in early August that the north London club had ‘cooled their interest’.

That same story said that Chelsea were considering a move for the player, as Antonio Conte continues his quest to strengthen the Premier League champions.

Marcelino, who was appointed as the manager of Valencia in May to herald a new dawn at the club, was asked about the defender’s future at the weekend.

“Cancelo? We want him to stay with us, he’s part of our plans,” he said. “I would like to stay with us, I would, but I can not decide on any incoming offers yet.”

The La Liga side are said to value Cancelo at around €25m.
