Manchester United have opened talks with Bordeaux about a move for Brazilian attacker Malcom.
Jose Mourinho was reported last week to hold a serious interest in the wide forward, who only joined Bordeaux from Brazilian club Corinthians in January 2016.
The Daily Mail report that United are looking at a deal that would see them pay £33m for Malcom in January, but immediately loan him back to Bordeaux for the rest of the season.
The Brazilian would then join the club permanently next summer, thus avoiding a potential scrum of clubs lining up to sign him at that point.
Bordeaux are said to want £50m for a 20-year-old who has seven goals this season, but that seems fanciful.
Still, with no release clause and Bordeaux having no reason to sell on the cheap, he won’t come cheap.
United working on deal for Malcom. Bordeaux want £50m+; Utd won’t go near that. Would loan him back if signed https://t.co/G4MSFjlQVL
