Sadio Mane has been told that he will “feel his best” at Bayern Munich amid reports linking him with a £42.5m move away from Liverpool.

The forward is out of contract in 2023 and he has made it clear that he wants to join Bayern Munich this summer.

This comes after he helped the Reds lift the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. He has netted 120 goals in 269 games for the English side.

Jurgen Klopp’s hypocrisy continues with Liverpool’s splurge for Darwin Nunez

Liverpool want £42.5m for Mane and Bayern Munich are ‘expected’ to meet their asking price.

Jurgen Klopp’s side look set to replace Mane with Benfica forward Darwin Nunez. The deal for him could rise to £85m with add-ons and it is set to be completed this week.

Senegal manager Aliou Cisse has now suggested that Mane would fit in at Bayern Munich:

“It’s not just Sadio, I’m going to talk about it for all those players who are in a situation where they have to find a club, it’s complicated. Why? Because it is all this problem that awaits us for the World Cup which is in November,” Cisse said (via 90min).

“And I tell my boys to try to settle the contract problems so that when their respective championships resume, they will have already found a base. I heard about Sadio at Bayern.

“Bayern is intensity, pressure football with a German coach. Sadio played in Salzburg in Austria which is a border country, and that means he is not going into unknown territory. For me, the club where he will feel the best is Bayern.”

Elsewhere, Paul Dickov has said that Liverpool need to add further “young players” to their “ageing squad” to compete with Man City:

“The fantastic front three is ageing a bit, Klopp has signed a long-term contract… getting younger players in at top-level looking forward to the next three or four years has to be significant for them, they can’t afford to fall behind Man City.

“Signing Haaland, Julian Alvarez – who’s just won player of the tear in Argentina at the age of 21 – Man City are strengthening the positions they need to but I do think going forward for the future of Liverpool, I do think they need to bring in younger players at the top level with the ageing squad they’ve got.”
