Martial to extend Man Utd deal regardless of Jose – report

Anthony Martial is reportedly intent on signing a new contract with Manchester United.

The French winger started against Chelsea – his fourth start of the season in the Premier League – and scored twice for United in a confident performance.

And now RMC Sport claim the 22-year-old is ready to extend his United contract, after the player insisted that relations between himself and Jose Mourinho were never as bad as had been portrayed in the media.

“Come on, things were not tense between us to begin with,” Martial said after Saturday’s 2-2 draw.

“We have a player-coach relationship and I hope that we will continue like that and bring Manchester United as much as possible.”

Reports on Monday suggested Mourinho was willing to let Martial move to Tottenham before Ed Woodward intervened.
