Mauricio Pochettino says he wants to return to the Premier League amid more speculation he could take over at Manchester United.
Pochettino was sacked earlier this season by Tottenham amid a poor run of form and was replaced by former United boss Jose Mourinho.
The Argentine has since been out of work as he looks for the ideal opportunity to return to the game as a manager.
The Sunday Mirror recently claimed that Pochettino ‘hasn’t given up hope’ of taking over at Old Trafford next season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer struggling.
And Pochettino is looking forward to his “next challenge” which he hopes will come in the Premier League.
“To be honest, I would love to work in the Premier League,” Pochettino told the In The Pink podcast. “It’s going to be difficult, I know, and for now it’s a moment to wait and we’ll see what happens.
“It’s a moment of recovery, to think about yourself a little bit, and to be ready because in football always something can happen and you need to be ready.
“I’m ready and waiting for a new challenge. I have the belief and confidence that the next challenge will be fantastic.”
