Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe will announce the decision on his future this month after choosing to join Real Madrid, according to reports.

The France international is out of contract at the end of the season with his current club extremely eager for him to sign an extension.

Liverpool have also reportedly sparked an interest, but it has always appeared to be a two-horse race between PSG and Real Madrid.

Despite his contract situation, Madrid made a €220m bid to sign Mbappe last summer, with the Ligue 1 outfit failing to respond to the offer.

PSG have not held back in their pursuit of keeping the player, offering him a €100m bonus if he extends his stay in the French capital.

Los Blancos have always seemed confident that they will land Mbappe when his contract expires and 90min now claim that they will indeed get their man.

The report states that the 23-year-old will announce his decision later this month, with a move to Madrid in the pipeline.

Mbappe has been part of Florentino Perez’s plans for a number of years with the Real president originally hoping to bring him in alongside France teammates Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante.

PSG ‘refuse to believe’ that Mbappe has already decided to leave and are doing all they can to tempt the forward into staying in Paris.

Last month, PSG technical director Leonardo hinted that Real Madrid have been overly confident in their pursuit of the former Monaco man.

He said: “In Madrid they have been sure that he will end up at Real Madrid… Maybe they are too sure of it? [laughs].”

Leonardo continued: “Mbappe? The discussion have always been there. There were discussions in Doha.

“Kylian talks, he talks with us. What he says is the truth. He still hasn’t decided. I think that the possibility of him staying exists. The possibility of him going exists too, but I think that he is still reflecting, he is seeing that things change.”
