Memphis Depay: ‘I think I’m going to Real Madrid’

Memphis Depay has admitted that he expects to join Real Madrid at some point in his career.

Depay has endured some difficult seasons after leaving PSV in summer 2015.

The 23-year-old struggled to establish himself at Manchester United, and subsequently joined Ligue Un side Lyon in January 2017.

The Dutch winger has settled in France, with a respectable record of eight goals in 27 games.

He admits that joining Real Madrid is a dream he still harbours.

“I think I’m going to Real Madrid. Yes, that’s a serious goal,” he told Dutch magazine The PSV Supporter.

“What’s happened so far, that’s God, He helps me and brings me here.

“I had very nice times at PSV, but I wanted to reach higher goals in my career. At Lyon I’m very happy. The club is in a way comparable to PSV.”
