Messi rubbishes the idea of ever playing in Premier League

Lionel Messi has issued an update over his Barcelona future after the latest laborious claims over a possible exit.

It was claimed in Don Balon over the weekend that Messi had issued an ultimatum to Barcelona to sign more big-name players.

The Argentinean has supposedly demanded that the club not sign Rodrygo and Arthur from Santos and Gremio respectively.

Messi was said to be concerned about Real Madrid’s 13th Champions League title win on Saturday.

But the player himself has dismissed speculation, saying that he will only leave Barcelona if it is to play in his native Argentina.

“Every time I have it more clear that, in Europe, Barcelona is going to be my only place,” Messi told Pasion por el Futbol.

“I always said that I want to play some day in Argentine football. I do not know if it will happen but I have it in mind. Nothing more.

“I’d like to live that for at least six months but you never know what’s going to happen.”
