Ozil agent provides transfer update amid Arsenal exit rumours

The agent of Mesut Ozil has provided a new update on his player as speculation continues about his future at Arsenal.
Ozil is edging closer to a transfer after being left out of Mikel Arteta’s Premier League squad.
His contract is set to expire in June, which means he can begin negotiations with interested parties from January.

Ozil’s agent, Dr Erkut Sogut, has now provided fans with a new update about his situation.
Speaking to Turkish outlet Fanatik (via Mirror), Sogut said: “Mesut has another 6 month contract with Arsenal. Certainly, he has missed football.
“He is currently working hard to wear the Arsenal shirt again, and he will continue to work.
“I would like to clearly state our situation regarding Fenerbahce. Yes, we had meetings with Fenerbahce. We had a one-on-one conversation with the club’s most authorised people.
“However, we can never have contact before January for official transfer talks. We received transfer offers for Mesut from all over the world.
“Fenerbahce’s interest is known. Under these circumstances, it seems that Mesut will complete the season in Arsenal.”
It looks like the German will run down his contract at the Emirates before deciding on his next move. As stated by his agent, the 32-year-old has been linked with teams around the world.
A move to the US has been touted, with Major League Soccer team DC United thought to be interested.
One sticking point for potential suitors is his massive wage demands. The playmaker currently earns an eye-watering £350,000 per week at Arsenal, which smaller clubs won’t be able to afford.
Ozil’s situation has sparked plenty of controversy amongst both fans and former players. Pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp have had a heated debate about whether he would improve Arsenal.
Gunners legend Freddie Ljunberg has backed Ozil to make a dramatic return to the first team in the future.
