The agent of Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet insists Alisson’s arrival makes no difference to the Belgium international’s plans.

Mignolet lost his place at Anfield last season when Loris Karius took the gloves. Karius subsequently made a series a costly errors, including two howlers in the Champions League final.

Jurgen Klopp opted to pay a world record fee for a goalkeeper this week when Brazil No.1 Alisson arrived from Roma for a fee that could rise to £66million.

Faced with being third choice at Anfield, Mignolet is looking to quit the club he joined from Sunderland in 2013.

His agent Nico Vaesen is quoted by Sport Witness as saying: “It doesn’t change the situation. Our goal is to find a solution for Simon to play and Alisson’s arrival doesn’t change that.

“We know that a player of €60-70million won’t find himself on the bench. We are looking at the situation and looking for a solution to his playing time.

“There are options, the next few days will be decisive.”

Vaesen’s comments come as Mignolet is listed by Marca as one of the options Barcelona are considering to replace their back-up stopper Jasper Cillessen.

Also on the list are Koen Casteels, Yann Sommer, Geronimo Rulli and Marko Dmitrovic.
