The agent of Paul Pogba, Mino Raiola, believes the Frenchman is more likely to leave Man Utd in the summer rather than the upcoming January transfer window.

Pogba’s future has dominated the headlines in recent weeks after the agent publicly declared that he wants a transfer next month.

That led to uproar from fans and ex-players alike, as the agent was slammed for making the comments just hours before a vital match against RB Leipzig.

Former player Gary Neville said that the club should refrain from dealing with Raiola ever again, as his conduct had shown ‘a lack of respect’.

Raiola has now revealed another short statement on Pogba. He said (via journalist Fabrizio Romano): “Pogba will have a great future. In England, they’re very sensitive when you talk about Pogba. I’ve just expressed my thoughts.

“I’ve said that Paul can leave in the summer, it’s hard to do top deals in January.”

Juventus are thought to be planning a move next year to bring him back to Turin. They could also involve Paulo Dybala in the deal.

Here’s Raiola’s full statement from just before the Leipzig match: “There’s no use ignoring it. It’s better to speak honestly, look to the future and not waste time trying to blame people: Paul is unhappy at Manchester United, he can no longer express himself as he wants to or in the way that’s expected of him.

“He needs to change team, he needs a change of scene. He has a contract that expires in a year and a half’s time, in the summer of 2022, but I think the best solution would be for him to leave in the next transfer window.

“Otherwise the club from Old Trafford, with whom he has a good relationship, know very well that they risk losing him on a free transfer, considering that right now he does not want to extend his deal.

“If people don’t get that, they know very little about football. In any case, they’ll all blame me if Paul leaves next summer.”

It’s clear that Raiola refuses to back down or be silenced when it comes to the future of his main client.
