Mooy hails Huddersfield’s ‘terrific’ fans

Aaron Mooy has given Huddersfield Town’s chances of signing him for their first appearance in the Premier League a boost by hailing the club’s fans.

The Australian international spent last season on loan with the Terriers from Manchester City as they secured an unlikely promotion to the Premier League.

The club are understandably keen to re-sign Mooy, though a permanent signing would cost around £12m.

Mooy was keen to talk about Huddersfield’s fans when he told ESPN: “Right from the start they backed me and believed in me.

“When you start at a new club that’s what you want from the fans and sometimes it’s what you need.

“I loved playing in front of them all season long. Always big crowds and a great atmosphere, it was terrific.

“I will remember this season forever.

“It was a massive achievement for one of the smaller clubs in the division and nobody really expected it. I am really proud.”
