Jose Mourinho is demanding a pay rise to sign a new deal with Manchester United.

Mourinho was appointed United manager on a three-year contract with the option of a further year.

The Portuguese won three trophies in his first season: the Community Shield, the EFL Cup and the Europa League.

And despite a disappointing sixth-place finish, Mourinho feels that he ‘deserves a rise on his £12million-a-year salary’.

The Sunday Mirror reports that he ‘wants his slice’ of the club’s increased revenues, as he believes he ‘contributed to the bulging bank balance with his trophy haul’.

It is also reported that he is ‘frustrated’ with Old Trafford chiefs due to their ‘failure to reward him’ with a new contract after last season.
