David de Gea is only Manchester United’s third-best goalkeeper, according to Jose Mourinho.
De Gea has been the best goalkeeper in the Premier League this season, if not the entire universe and all the galaxies and stuff.
He made 14 saves in the 3-1 win against Arsenal – a joint Premier League record.
But Mourinho has joked that he has two better keepers in Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira in his squad.
When asked whether he had worked with a better keeper than De Gea throughout his career, Mourinho replied: “Yes. Romero.
“Because he plays [against CSKA] and my goalkeeper is always the best goalkeeper in the world. So now David is the third best.
“Romero is number one, Joel number two and David is the third best.”
To be fair, some at the club do believe Pereira will be better one day.
