Jose Mourinho has discussed the dilemma facing Marouane Fellaini, with the Manchester United boss suggesting his midfielder should sign the contract on offer quickly.
Fellaini is out of contract at the end of the season and Mourinho has spoken of his desire to retain the Belgian’s services beyond the summer.
Fellaini has been sidelined recently with injury and his return to the side on Wednesday at Spurs lasted eight minutes before he felt another problem with his knee.
Mourinho suggested on Friday that Fellaini might not want to waste much more time before deciding his future.
“I told him yesterday ‘sign the contract and shut up’,” Mourinho said with a laugh.
“I told him ‘don’t gamble too much, sign the contract before you know the extent of the injury’.”
