Moyes: ‘We go into Liverpool match believing in ourselves’
David Moyes knows the difficult test West Ham face on Sunday against Liverpool, but insists his side believe they can get a positive result.
The Hammers have looked terrific so far this season. They currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, picking up 20 points from their opening ten fixtures.
Moyes’ men are also on fire in the Europa League, achieving qualification to the first knockout round after drawing with Genk in Belgium on Thursday.

It can be difficult to balance Europa League football with the Premier League, however, West Ham have made a good job of it so far this term.
“At the moment we seem OK. Andriy Yarmolenko had a bit of an injury before we left, Nikola Vlasic as well. We’ll see how they are,” Moyes said.
“It’s a quick turnaround between the games but hopefully we’ll be OK. We are getting tested at the moment because we are having the games so regularly.
“We lost a couple of players midweek to small niggles, which can easily happen, but what I can say is that whoever we’re bringing in at the moment is doing a good job and playing well.”

Liverpool are currently second in the table, two points ahead of the Irons. Moyes admits it will be a “tough” game, but has faith in his side to pull off an upset.
“We go into the game believing in how we’re playing.
“We want to give them a better game than last year and show them we’ve progressed.
“We know they’ll rise to the challenge too and it’ll be a tough game.
“Liverpool have always had a great side over many years. I was fortunate to finish above them a couple of times when I was at Everton, but since then they have improved many things, their stadium, their team and they are certainly challenging for all the competitions they enter.
“They played very well here last year at London Stadium and we’ll have to do much better. We’ve stepped up again and will have to do everything right.
“We’ll try to give them a difficult day.”
Moyes also condemned the footage of the club’s fans apparently singing an anti-Semitic song towards a Jewish man on a plane.
“Well I have to say first of all that I don’t see our football club being like that. We are a diverse football club. There’s no room for discrimination anywhere,” he said.
