Neville baffled by ‘fuss’ as he urges Man Utd and departing player to ‘move on’
Gary Neville does not understand the “fuss” surrounding Englishman Jesse Lingard as he and Manchester United need to “move on”.
Lingard has barely featured for Man Utd this season. He has only started a couple of times in the Premier League.
The midfielder is out of contract in June and he will be leaving United. He looked to depart in January but the club’s hierarchy prevented this from happening.

Man Utd beat Brentford 3-0 on Monday night in their last game of the season at Old Trafford.
Lingard was an unused sub so did not get a send-off in front of United’s home fans. His brother – Louie Scott – said after the Brentford game that Man Utd are “classless”:
“20 years of blood sweat and tears, four domestic trophies, three cup final goals, not even a farewell. No wonder it’s Conference League next year,” Scott said.
“Attacking players for celebrations when the club’s being sold to the super league OK.
“Class of ’92, Busby Babes, you’re run by people who don’t even know the offside trap. Classless and the fans need to realise. Goodnight, god bless! Been there since nine years of age and didn’t even get a send-off! Well done bro your family are proud.”

Speaking on Friday afternoon, United interim boss Ralf Rangnick suggested that he doesn’t take “too much notice” to talk over social media:
“To be honest, I’m not reading a lot, I’ve not had the time in the last six months to read, I’m not on Instagram, I’m not on Facebook, I’m not engaged in those areas.
“My focus has been to develop the team. In those days with social media there is always somebody posting something and it’s important not to take too much notice of that. Unless it is the player himself, then it might be a different story.”
Neville offered his thoughts on the situation (via Twitter) on Friday evening:
“I don’t get the Lingard fuss at all. I saw far better players than him not get a perfect send-off,” Neville said.
“He wants to leave, he wanted a free transfer. He’s got it. Move on.”
