Neville questions ‘shock’ over Wilson loan move

Gary Neville has questioned the ‘shock’ over James Wilson’s departure from Manchester United to join Brighton on loan.

Wilson, who has featured just twice for United so far this season, has joined Championship leaders Brighton on loan until the end of the season after finding first-team football difficult to come by at Old Trafford.

Some have questioned the decision to loan Wilson out, but Neville believes it is the right choice.

“People are shocked that Wilson is leaving on loan. Why? He hasn’t played and is a lad who needs to play all the time at his age. Better for him and United,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Lots of young lads end up age 22 with only 50 games under their belt through waiting in the wings. Get them playing and learning,” Neville added.
