Neville: What the f**k is Danny Rose thinking?!

Gary Neville thinks Danny Rose should have handled his grievances over his salary and Tottenham’s transfer policy in a more “professional manner”.

The 27-year-old, who has been sidelined with a knee injury for six months, has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea this summer.

And in an interview with The Sun, Rose made it clear that he would “make sure” he gets what he is worth as he believes he is currently being underpaid.

“As with everyone else in my team, in my opinion, I am worth more than I am getting,” Rose said.

“In any walk of life, if you think you are worth a certain amount, why settle for less? I am not that person.

“If I get to levels I reached last season — and this goes out to everybody — I will make sure I get what I am worth.”

He also said that he wants to “play up north” before the end of his career and hoped Tottenham started signing players that he didn’t “have to google”.

Sky Sports pundit Neville wrote on Twitter: “WTF is Danny Rose thinking!

“Imagine walking into the training ground having not been fit for months and months. Morning lads!”

Neville added: “Wanting out isn’t an issue. How you handle it and go about it is. [He] should have stuck to dealing with it in a professional manner.”

And Neville wasn’t the only one surprised by Rose’s comments, Lord Sugar – who was Spurs chairman for ten years – also aired his views on social media: “Disgusting article by Danny Rose. Unprofessional and totally ungrateful. It’s demoralising and disappointing. Chuck him out.”

While our very own Daniel Storey has written a piece on his temptation to take a different path.
