Newcastle active on ‘two more signings’ after Livramento deal; agent ‘in talks’ over £30m transfer
Newcastle United are looking to bring in two more signings before the end of the transfer window after agreeing a deal for Tino Livramento, according to reports.
The Magpies have already signed Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes and Yankuba Minteh this summer with reports revealing yesterday that a fourth signing is now imminent.
David Ornstein confirmed on Thursday that Southampton had ‘accepted an offer’ from Newcastle for Livramento with The Athletic journalist confirming the bid was for a fee ‘approaching £40m’.
But Eddie Howe and the recruitment team don’t want to stop there with Football Insider claiming Newcastle ‘want two more signings following the capture of’ Livramento.
The Geordies’ ‘summer spree is not over despite Livramento taking their summer spending to more than £130m’ and they are ‘now set to use the loan market’ too.
Football Insider adds:
‘Eddie Howe and director of football Dan Ashworth are hopeful of two more captures, one of whom will be a defender with talks underway with potential loan targets.
‘Those deals are expected to get done before the window shuts at the end of the month.’

One of those new signings could be Italy international Nicolo Zaniolo with Turkish outlet Hürriyet insisting that the Galatasaray forward’s agent is ‘in talks’ with Newcastle.
Zaniolo has a €35m release clause at Galatasaray but the report adds that the Super Lig side are ‘willing to sell’ to Newcastle €30m excluding bonuses.
Liverpool and other clubs have been linked with a move for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes this summer but Howe reckons there is little risk of losing the Brazilian.
On Guimaraes, Howe said: “I don’t think Bruno wants to leave. I feel we are protected enough.
“The most important person in this is Bruno. He sees this season as a huge opportunity for him to play on the best stage that he can and to try and help Newcastle grow.
“That is the most important thing, not necessarily if a club comes in, it is where the player feels his home is and I think he feels that his home is Newcastle.”
Howe added: “You can never tell what will happen in football, I can’t sit here and say clubs won’t be interested in Bruno – for me, he’s an outstanding player. But I see a player who is very committed to this football club.”
