Newcastle have reportedly offered a number of high-profile forwards in the summer transfer window, including outcasts from Chelsea, Barcelona and Arsenal.

Eddie Howe and new Sporting Director Dan Ashworth are now looking to bolster their forward options having spent the first half of the window shoring up their defence.

Centre-back Sven Botman has joined from Lille, goalkeeper Nick Pope has arrived from Burnley, while left-back Matt Targett has made his loan move from Aston Villa permanent this summer.

Despite their extraordinary wealth following their takeover by a Saudi-backed consortium, the Magpies’ spending is constrained by a need to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

It’s reported that Howe was handed around £100m to spend this summer and has already spent just short of £60m on the three new arrivals.

According to 90min, ‘ideally the club would like to sign a wide forward and a striker’ with their remaining £40m.

Despite that limited budget, a fair few have been attracted to Newcastle’s new-found wealth, and are looking to offload their undesirables.

Timo Werner, Nicolas Pepe and Memphis Depay have all been ‘offered’ to Newcastle.

Thomas Tuchel is thought to be thoroughly peeved by Werner’s suggestion that he could be “happy everywhere” as long as he’s playing and scoring goals.

Tuchel’s reply was simple and we’ll simplifier it further – just be better at football, Timo.

Pepe is thought to be surplus to requirements at Arsenal, despite the winger himself saying he’s “determined” to make things work at Arsenal. Poor b*stard.

And Barcelona, let’s face it, have presumably offered half of their squad to anyone who may be able to afford them, as they make room on their wage bill for other players they can’t afford.

Depay, Werner and Pepe are all ‘on the fringes at their respective clubs this season and are looking for an escape route before the September 1 deadline’, but are just three of a ‘string of fringe players touted for a move to St James’ Park.

90min claim that as well as being offered players, Newcastle are also considering a move for Watford pair Emmanuel Dennis and Ismaila Sarr, who are set to start the new season in the Championship and would likely want a move to a Premier League club.

A seperate report claims Newcastle have also been offered Paris Saint-Germain star Julian Draxler.

Newcastle are said to be interested in the playmaker having failed to persuade Lucas Paqueta to join from Lyon despite an offer of over €40m.

PSG are said to have informed the Magpies that Draxler would be available for €20-30m and it remains to be seen whether the Premier League side would be willing to stump up that much for the 28-year-old, who has two years left on his current deal with the French champions.

But the report claims ‘the file went beyond the simple interest stage’ as Newcastle have not only contacted PSG, but have also held discussions with Draxler’s representatives ‘to present the project and open possible negotiations’.

It’s not yet clear whether Draxler is open to a move to the Magpies but it’s said that ‘ if he closes all the doors that come his way, he will not play at PSG’.
