Newcastle United are interested in signing Feyenoord attacker Luis Sinisterra, according to reports in the Netherlands.

The 22-year-old has started the season in terrific form, scoring nine and assisting six in 17 matches in all competitions.

He also has three caps for the Colombian national team, making his debut in 2019 at the age of 20.

Men are at the core of football’s biggest, strangest problem

Sinisterra has been at Feyenoord since 2018 and his current contract runs until 2024.

His excellent form this term has attracted the attention of numerous teams, and he is reportedly valued at around £20million.

Newcastle’s interest has been reported by Dutch journalist Maarten Wijffels, who told Voetbalpodcast (via Sport Witness): “He has a lot, that goal against Union Berlin that Jahanbakhsh made. Like he sometimes takes the ball, always facing forward.

“A really wonderful player. Newcastle United will immediately start bidding.”

Another player being linked with a move to St James’ Park is Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard.

The Belgium captain moved to Spain from Chelsea in 2019 but has endured an injury-ravaged time in Madrid since his £105m move.

A move to Newcastle – who are able to splash the cash after their Saudi-led takeover – could be a great move for Hazard to get his career back on track.

However, after a legendary career at Stamford Bridge, it is unclear whether the 30-year-old would play for another Premier League outfit.

Having said that, Spanish outlet El Chiringuito are reporting that Newcastle want to sign Hazard in the winter transfer window. The report states they want him to be one of the “stars” of their new team.

The Magpies will need to improve their squad in January as they battle to stay in the top flight.

They are currently 19th in the league table having drawn four and lost five of their opening nine fixtures.

Graeme Jones stepped up to take charge of the club on an interim basis following the sacking of Steve Bruce.

His first game in the job was against Crystal Palace over the weekend. Callum Wilson netted a wonderful equaliser to earn his side a point.
