‘Next Chelsea boss’ Allegri: I am not a tactical coach
Juventus coach Max Allegri is reportedly ‘ready to be Chelsea boss next season’ and has given an extensive interview about his methods.
Allegri has been very open about his desire to leave Italy and has been learning English ahead of a potential move to the Premier League.
He reportedly held talks with Arsenal when Arsene Wenger was dithering about his future and now looks a good fit for Chelsea, with Antonio Conte now counting the minutes until he can leave the club this summer.
Allegri is on the verge of winning his fourth consecutive Serie A title with Juventus, who also face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.
“Certainly I will go abroad,” Allegri told The Telegraph. “In Italy, finished.”
Asked to describe his methods, Allegri said: “I could never be a coach who mainly focuses on tactics or analytics because I am more instinctive.
“The coach, in my opinion, bases his decisions on sensations, on perceptions.
“Otherwise it would be enough to sit in front of the computer and football would be like a PlayStation. And that is not what I am.
“In football there are a lot of people who try to reach perfection with figures, with tactics but it’s impossible because there are too many variables.”
