RB Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell says Chelsea would not be making a mistake if they bought Erling Haaland for £130million.

The striker spent one year at Leipzig’s sister club, Red Bull Salzburg, before earning an £18million move to Borussia Dortmund.

He’s since bagged an impressive 57 goals in 59 games for the German side and looks destined to reach the top, if he is not already there.

Finally, Spurs are ready for Pochettino’s ‘painful rebuild’

His brilliant scoring record has seen him linked with all of Europe’s top clubs.

The current frontrunners are Chelsea, who have put aside the necessary funds to sign him this summer.

Speaking about Haaland, Vivell told German outlet SportBild: “When I look at the market and see who I would spend that much money on, he would probably be one of two.

“If you can secure him now and pay that much for him, you’re not making a mistake because he’s still so young.

“On top of that, you have him under contract for five years, and Erling is already guaranteed something then.

“If he stays injury-free, he can dominate the next ten or twelve years like Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Recent reports have suggested Haaland is ‘tempted’ by a Chelsea move as a result of two main reasons.

One is that ‘Team Haaland’ sees Chelsea as a significant step up from Dortmund, following their Champions League success in May.

The second is that Thomas Tuchel’s men are in with a shout for the Premier League title next term.

They went on a 10-match unbeaten run in the league after Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.

The German has improved the likes of Jorginho and Kai Havertz. He could take Haaland to the next level, if there even is such a thing.

The Norway international was asked about his future for the 427th time on Tuesday.

He said: “I don’t really have much to say about this.

“I have three years left on my contract and I’m enjoying my time here [at Dortmund].

“Before yesterday, I didn’t speak to my agent in one month – I think you have the answer there.

“I don’t really care too much about that. It’s a lot of money – I hope it’s just rumours to be honest because that’s a lot of money for a person!”
