Bookmakers NetBet are planning to help West Brom beat Manchester United at Old Trafford – on the noise front, as well as on the pitch.

An official Press Association survey in 2014 declared Manchester United the loudest fans in the Premier League, and the Baggies are not happy about it.

Albion fans, who have a strong reputation for creating a partisan atmosphere at The Hawthorns and on their travels, were rated a credible joint second best in the findings alongside Stoke City and Tottenham.

However, West Brom’s official online betting partner, Netbet, have joined forces with the fans to claim what they believe to be their rightful place in top spot of the noise charts.

“This is a fun initiative that we are supporting,” said John Holmer, who is the chairman of the Albion Official Supporter Club.

“Helping bringing more passion and enthusiasm to the stadium from a fan point of view is very positive for the game. We have amazing and committed supporters here at WBA and we would love to see them topping the noise level chart.”

Vowing to help the fans top the table or at least secure second spot in the table outright, the Netbet van and girls will be cheering on West Brom and handing out megaphones around Old Trafford for the Baggies’ away game with Manchester United on November 7.

NetBet also intend to #MakeSomeNoise on December 5 for the home clash with Spurs and the battle with Stoke on January 2.

Nathan Carr, founder of the popular independent WBA fan twitter account Baggies Galore (@BaggiesGalore), has been supporting the #MakeSomeNoise campaign and is happy it is back, saying: “What’s not to like about any campaign to lift West Brom up the table and raise the noise levels home and away?

“We are the loudest in the Midlands so let’s aim to be the loudest in the country!”

Leading the NetBet #MakeSomeNoise campaign is Master of Ceremonies Greg Scott, who added: “These stats which make West Brom the joint second loudest fans in the Premier League are out of date.

“We intend to propel West Brom up the decibel levels table by picking out the nearest rivals in the study and deafening them.

“Studies show Manchester United fans at Old Trafford typically measure 83.00 dB – we don’t understand why they have been proclaimed as the loudest in the league: after all it is hard to cheer when your mouth is stuffed with a prawn sandwich!

“According to United’s own statistics, it has over 108 million supporters in China alone – perhaps they should be thinking about translating football chants into Cantonese to help in their noise efforts! The campaign will show what noise real football fans make!”

The NetBet #MakeSomeNoise campaign has been out in force regularly at The Hawthorns this season and at the Rugby World Cup.

The quest to #MakeSomeNoise also saw a real tank parked on Jose Mourinho’s lawn at Stamford Bridge last Saturday ahead of Chelsea’s defeat by Liverpool.

The big gun moves to the Emirates to target the Gunners on 8 November, taking aim at White Hart Lane on 22 November and then into Central London itself in early December.
