‘Nothing against Arsenal’ – Gunners told Mbappe is ‘tailor made’ for another side amid transfer links

Alan Hutton has detailed how he feels Kylian Mbappe is “tailor made” for Real Madrid and if the forward is to leave Paris Saint-Germain, he “will end up” there.
In other news, water is wet.
The Gunners’ ambition is clear to see. Mikel Arteta has built a squad worthy of challenging for the Premier League title – that’s exactly what they did last season.
Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko were particularly useful additions ahead of the season. Mid-way through the campaign, Leandro Trossard and Jorginho also added something to the side.
Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber – though the latter pair are not yet officially Arsenal players – are all prodigious talents who will be top assets for the Gunners.
Arsenal are not yet at Mbappe level, though. While they’ve been linked, it would be one of the most surprising transfers in the history of football if the Frenchman decided he wanted to go to the Emirates.
Former Premier League defender Hutton is of the opinion that Real Madrid will snap him up when he is to leave – seemingly next year, when his contract is up, as he says he’s not going to extend and never was.
“Mbappe is tailor made for Real Madrid,” he told Football Insider.
“I just believe that if he was ever to leave PSG, then he will end up at Real Madrid.”
It’s hardly a revelation that Real want to sign Mbappe if they’re able. They’ve been interested in him for what feels like his entire career, and there has not been a shortage of reports suggesting so. They also reportedly bid approximately £171million for him in 2021 – this is not news.
In fairness to Hutton, he does explain it’s widely accepted Mbappe is a target of Real’s, and he feels while Arsenal aren’t in the mix, that’s less a slight on them and more a comment on the enormity of Real.
“It’s nothing against Arsenal whatsoever, but I can tell you this 100 per cent, it is well known that Madrid is the club he wants to be at,” Hutton added.
“We will wait and see, but I can’t see it being Arsenal, and that is not a downside for them, Mbappe is still 24, so if there is anyone you can imagine in a Real Madrid strip, it would be him.”
