‘Obsessed’ Man Utd ‘ready’ to pull off ‘great transfer bomb’ after European giants demand ‘crazy fee’

According to reports, Man Utd are currently ‘obsessed’ with AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez and they are ‘ready’ to sign him this summer.
AC Milan splashed out around €2om to sign the France international from Real Madrid in 2019. He has played 167 times for the 2021/22 Serie A champions over the past four seasons.
Man Utd have been linked with Hernandez sporadically over the past couple of months, despite Erik ten Hag currently having Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia competing for starts at left-back.
Now Spanish outlet Fichajes are reporting that United are ‘ready to lose their heads for Hernandez’ (which is an odd turn of phrase).
With Man Utd apparently ‘having several problems at left-back in recent seasons’, they have a ‘current obsession’ with Hernandez.
The Red Devils are ‘willing to offer more than 60 million euros’ in an attempt to push AC Milan into ‘carrying out one of the great bombs of the transfer market’.
Arsenal were linked with Hernandez before the end of last season and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated in April that he will “only leave for crazy money”.
“Theo Hernandez is almost untouchable at this stage, Milan would not even consider €50m or €60m bids for him. Crucial player who could only leave for crazy money,” Romano told Caught Offside earlier this year.
He added: “No decision has been made on Nuno Tavares yet, it will be discussed in May/June with his agents.”

Man Utd are also being linked with Fiorentina and Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who is available for around €30m this summer.
Former United striker Louis Saha “would be excited to see him” at Old Trafford if this transfer gets finalised.
“Amrabat is a player that I really like and he’s got a great intensity level that I don’t believe is matched,” Saha told Betfred.
“It would be exciting to see him at Manchester United and he would improve the overall balance of the squad. We need legs, we need energy and we need strength that can help us upset teams.
“Mason Mount is another player that can provide the team with more energy as he’s one of those footballers that runs eleven kilometres a game.”
He added: “Manchester United could benefit from the addition of another midfielder because you hear rumours that Fred or Scott McTominay could leave the club this summer.
“You definitely need to have two defensive midfielders in your squad, so if Fred or Scott do leave this summer, then you’re going to have to bring another player in. Marcel Sabitzer also left the club in the summer as well.”
