OGS refuses to park in Man Utd manager’s spot due to SAF

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refuses to use the parking space reserved for Manchester United’s manager at the club’s Carrington training complex – because he believes it belongs to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Solskjaer was appointed the club’s interim manager in December as replacement for Jose Mourinho, earning a permanent three-year contract by March.

The Norwegian has been a revelation at Old Trafford despite recent difficulties, but has been completely in thrall to former boss Ferguson throughout his reign.

Solskjaer is in danger of becoming a passenger on his own United journey, with The Sun quite literally ramming that point home with an exclusive on Sunday.

They say Solskjaer ‘is happy parking his grey Volvo XC40 among the rank and file,’ at training, and ‘will not park in the manager’s car spot’ out of respect for Ferguson.

“It just doesn’t feel right parking there. It’s still the gaffer’s place,” Solskjaer reportedly told staff.

‘A United insider’ is also quoted as saying: “Sir Alex had his own spot. It’s a busy car park and we have been waiting for Ole to claim dibs on the bay after he started driving himself in.

“Ole is in before most of the staff but he is just as unassuming as we remember him.”
