Ole claims Inter target Lukaku is ‘not fit’ for Man Utd

Romelu Lukaku is ‘not fit’ to face Inter Milan on Saturday as the Manchester United striker continues to push for a move to the Serie A side.

The Belgian striker will surely join Inter as soon as they come close to matching United’s £75m price; he is yet to appear in pre-season games against Perth Glory and Leeds United, and will not face his prospective club.

“No he is not fit, he won’t be available no,” said Solskjaer, who was then asked for an update on his transfer and said: “I don’t have any updates from the last time you asked me.”

He was then asked about the availability of David De Gea and Luke Shaw and said: “I think both will be available. Luke trained well yesterday, David we will try to get 60 or longer out of him.

“We will give players some 45, some 60, some 70. It is another stepping stone, we are not planning to swap them all on half time.”

Will Manchester United replace Lukaku if he leaves?

United may choose to use Anthony Martial more as a striker this season, with Solskjaer adding: “Anthony can be a world class forward.

“I think if you followed Anthony the way he has come back to pre-season, his attitude is spot on. I think he has always got the quality and talent, so I expect him, and Marcus, to be even better than last season.

“Anthony had a top season when he came, I expect we will see a better Anthony next season.”
