Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been in touch with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho to tell him that a transfer to Man Utd is close, according to reports.
It is no secret that England international Sancho has been the Red Devils’ main target this window.
But despite there now being only a few weeks left of the transfer window, the deal is not yet done.
Sancho’s form has been remarkable in the last few years. He has been prolific when it comes to getting goals and assists for Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
From his 66 league games in the last two campaigns, Sancho has been involved in an impressive 59 goals. This form has made him one of the most sought-after young players in Europe.
But Dortmund have held out for a fee in the region of 120million euros (£108million) – with Man Utd reluctant to pay that – and insist the 20-year-old former Manchester City player is happy to stay in Germany.
And now Norwegian outlet Dagbladet claims that Solskjaer has ‘recently’ contacted Sancho to tell him ‘that he believes that the transfer to Manchester United will soon be in the bag’.
Sancho has previously told Solskjaer that he is ‘keen on a transfer to United’ despite Dortmund’s refusal to budge on their valuation.
Solskjaer ‘hopes to sign two players before the window closes’ with Sancho expected to be one of those.
