Ole reacts to ‘outspoken’ Keane criticism of Man Utd leaders

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he is “very happy” with his Man Utd squad after Roy Keane criticised the lack of leaders in the group.
The Red Devils came under increasing pressure on Sunday as they failed to back up their 5-0 victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League in midweek with a positive result against Arsenal.
Instead, Solskjaer’s 100th game in charge ended in United’s first league loss to the Gunners at Old Trafford since 2006, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converting a penalty in the 69th minute to give Mikel Arteta’s men a 1-0 win.
Prick of the Week No. 8: Roy Keane, leadership, and disrespect
Man Utd have already lost three Premier League matches this season and Keane hit out at the lack of leaders to pull the club through tough periods.
“I’m just not convinced with these players. We often talk about characters with Manchester United – I just don’t see enough of them,” Keane said over the weekend.
“These are high-profile players. We give them a big build-up before the match. I tend to judge players by their actions and the actions I see from this team are nowhere near good enough.
“You roll your sleeves up at Manchester United. When things aren’t going your way that’s when you look at your leaders, your characters – and I don’t see any leaders out there, right through the whole team. It’s a real, real worry for United now.”
Responding to criticism from Keane, Solskjaer told reporters at a press conference: “Roy has always been outspoken. I am very happy with the players I have here. His job is to give his opinion. I listen to him but we have a strong group here.”
There are no Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City representatives in our rundown of the top ten players of the season. Nor Manchester United, of course, but Jay Rodriguez gets in?!
