BBC Journalist David Ornstein has confirmed that Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace this summer.

Having so far only brought in Daniel James from Swansea, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are looking to kick-start their summer rebuild by signing the talented 21-year-old right-back.

There had been much speculation over recent weeks on the fee for Wan-Bissaka with various sums of money reported but Ornstein claims that Palace are happy to accept £50million.

Even on Monday, Palace were reportedly ‘unimpressed’ by some of the performance-related clauses offered by United.

The Telegraph‘s report at the time said: “One of those is thought to have included an additional sum payable if Wan-Bissaka made 25 Champions League appearances for United, who have not qualified for the competition next season.”

However, Ornstein delivered the news that had been seemingly coming for a while on Wednesday morning.

“Man Utd have reached an agreement with Crystal Palace to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a deal worth £50m,” Ornstein tweeted.

“21yo likely to travel north imminently for medical & to sign long-term contract on £80/90kpw (up from £10kpw).

“MUFC retain 25% sell on clause for Wilfried Zaha.”

Another BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone claims that the fee will be £45million initially with another £5million as add ons.
