‘Overweight’ Tevez slammed by new Shanghai manager

Carlos Tevez has been accused of being “overweight” by his new Shanghai Shenhua manager.

Tevez moved to the Chinese Super League in December 2016, becoming the highest-paid footballer in the world.

Despite his reputation, the striker has scored just two goals in 15 appearances, and his move to the Far East has been underwhelming to say the least.

To make matters worse, new Shanghai manager Wu Jingui, who replaced Gus Poyet earlier this month, has accused the 33-year-old of ballooning in weight.

“I won’t pick him right now. He’s not ready physically. He’s not fit to play,” Wu said.

“He is overweight, along with [Fredy] Guarin. I have to take responsibility for the team and the players as well.

“If you are unable do your utmost to play, there’s no point in picking you.”
