Paratici targets Damsgaard and ex-academy star for Spurs
Tottenham are turning their attention to a deal for a playmaker after securing the signing of centre-back Cristian Romero.
Spurs have agreed a deal worth €50million plus €5m in adds-on for Atalanta star Romero, with the Argentine expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal later this week.
Romero will be the club’s third summer signing after Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini as Fabio Paratici continues to make his mark.

And the the new director of football is now reportedly turning his attention to a creative midfielder.
Among the targets is Mikkel Damsgaard, who was one of the breakout stars of Euro 2020, with his free-kick against England a particularly memorable moment.
He stepped up in the absence of stricken former Spurs star Christian Eriksen and he could be set to follow in his compatriot’s footsteps in moving to north London.
Damsgaard has also been linked with a move to Aston Villa and Liverpool and is valued at around €50million, which could well be out of Spurs’ reach, unless Harry Kane leaves for Manchester City.
The Evening Standard also claims that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are also monitoring former academy player Noni Madueke.
The 19-year-old left Spurs for PSV in search of a clearer path to first team football in 2018 and notched seven goals and six assists in the Eredivisie last season.

Madueke is being tracked by a number of European clubs including Crystal Palace, Leeds, Southampton and Bayern Munich, but the departure of Donyell Malen from PSV to Borussia Dortmund is thought to have driven up his price.
Another potential creative addition for Spurs is former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
His agent Kia Joorabchian is said to be ‘moving’ to convince Paratici to plump for Coutinho this summer.
The report in the Spanish publication suggest that Coutinho could be the ‘star’ to replace Harry Kane if he leaves Tottenham for Manchester City this summer, despite the two players playing in different positions.
