Arsenal legend Ray Parlour thinks Manchester United players should refund fans for the first half of the season.

Mourinho fell out with a number of players during his time in charge at Old Trafford with high-profile incidents involving the likes Paul Pogba reportedly causing rifts in the camp.

United won their first game under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Saturday in a convincing 5-1 victory over Cardiff causing some onlookers to question their character under Mourinho.

When asked if Mourinho was pushed out of the club by the players, Parlour responded on talkSPORT: “Oh absolutely, without a doubt.

“They did exactly the same at Chelsea. The players have let the supporters down, really.

“You don’t always like your manager but you put a performance in for personal pride, plus the supporters who are the main people you’re playing for.

“They should pay half their money back, give the supporters’ their money back for the first half of the season.

Parlour added: “You don’t always like your manager but they should play for personal pride.

“The players owe the fans an apology!”
