Patrick Vieira has been left ‘upset’ by Arsenal after speaking with the club about their vacant manager’s role.
Vieira was one of the frontrunners to replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium, but Mikel Arteta is now the distant favourite.
New York City FC manager Vieira held talks with the club, but Sky Sports say he ‘feels the call was merely a token gesture to one of their former players’.
Vieira is said to be ‘disappointed’ with the Gunners hierarchy, and will not be offered the job.
Sky add that Thierry Henry has ‘not been contacted’ by the club, while Luis Enrique’s wage demands continue to make his appointment unlikely.
