We read all the sh*t so you don’t have to…

THE SUN: The back page (no less) on Wednesday morning claims an ‘EXCLUSIVE’ that Paul Pogba is determined to stay at Man United. They do say he has been ‘subbed or omitted from the starting line-up in eight of the last 13 United games’ but they have actually under-egged the pudding somewhat as he has actually played only four full games in United’s last 14. But anyway, regardless of the numbers, Neil Custis – for it is he – claims that the Frenchman wants to stay.

THE DAILY MIRROR: ‘Jose Mourinho wants Brazilian star Fred as a midfield replacement for Paul Pogba’, is the claim from John Cross. He writes that Jose Mourinho’s determination to sign the Brazilian ahead of Manchester City ‘is further indication that Pogba could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer’.

THE DAILY MAIL: ‘Paul Pogba has been offered to Paris Saint-Germain by his agent Mino Raiola as Manchester United’s record signing considers his options.’ The suggestion is that Raiola is ‘hawking’ Pogba around Europe as the relationship between Pogba and Jose Mourinho has got ‘increasingly fractious’ in recent months. But there is doubt as to whether PSG, Real Madrid or Barcelona are interested in him.

MAILONLINE: This is interesting. The Mail Online claim that ‘Michael Carrick sat down with his Manchester United team-mate Paul Pogba in an effort to help repair the Frenchman’s fractured relationship with manager Jose Mourinho’. That would suggest that the club wants to keep Pogba. Indeed, this report says as much with a claim that ‘executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has ordered Mourinho and Pogba to patch up their relationship’.

DAILY STAR: Somebody has clearly been briefing from within Man United as they also claim that Pogba has sat down with Carrick but they also add the name of David De Gea, claiming the ‘duo had a private chat with the superstar midfielder to urge him to resolve his differences with boss Jose Mourinho’. They repeat the claim that Woodward is ‘so concerned he has ordered Mourinho and Pogba to iron out their difference’.

TELEGRAPH: In direct opposition to the above is Jason Burt’s claim that ‘Jose Mourinho has the full backing of Manchester United to undertake a radical overhaul of his underperforming squad this summer – even if that means selling Paul Pogba’. The suggestion is that the Frenchman must improve in the final weeks of the season or he could be forced out.
