Antonio Conte says he would “prefer to tell the truth” about the Premier League title race after beating Huddersfield 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The Blues raced into a two-goal lead at half-time thanks to goals from Tiemoue Bakayoko and Willian before Pedro secured the points five minutes after the interval.

And Conte was surprisingly downbeat following another victory for his Chelsea outfit.

“When you have a team that in 16 games wins 15 and draw one, it is not simple to think in a positive way,” Conte told the BBC.

“We won seven games out of the last nine and drew at Liverpool. We are still 11 points behind Manchester City.

“You have to tell the truth. When you have a competitor like Manchester City, who are winning any game. People say talk negative/positive. Bulls**t. I prefer to tell the truth rather than a good lie.”
