Guardiola picks out one thing that impresses him about City
Pep Guardiola says the way has Manchester City side never give up has really impressed him this season after they beat Everton 2-1 on Wednesday.
Richarlison set up a tense finish at the Etihad Stadium by pulling one back after a Claudio Bravo error, but City held on.
The champions were not at their fluid best but were denied an early Phil Foden goal by VAR and created a number of other chances. Jesus went close to grabbing a hat-trick when he hit the post late on.
It was a deserved victory for City, condemning Carlo Ancelotti to his first defeat as Everton boss.
Speaking to BT Sport, Guardiola said: “We played great so I am delighted for the guys. This period is so tough. We did really well. Three more points and closer to Leicester.
“When you are far away from the first position sometimes people give up, but we never give up. We have to keep going. We have FA Cup then the EFL Cup. Other teams dropped points for the top four so it was an important win.”
