Pep Guardiola reportedly has his eye on Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard as an option to bring to Manchester City next summer.

The Spanish manager is courting the 20-year-old as a potential long-term replacement for David Silva, according to El Desmarque.

Silva confirmed at the start of this season that he is leaving Man City next summer and his departure will leave a big hole in the side.

Guardiola is said to have asked the board at Man City to consider signing Odegaard, who he sees as an option to replace him.

The Norwegian youngster has impressed on loan at Real Sociedad this season, scoring two and assisting twice in seven appearances.

Real Madrid are unlikely to consider a sale, with Florentino Pérez saying he has ‘no intention of negotiating’ a departure, particularly given his impressive performances at Real Sociedad.

El Desmarque say the Norwegian would have a market value of €60million, although Pérez would not sell below €80million were he to agree to a sale in the first place.
