Perry Groves has encouraged Arsenal to sign Premier League striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton during the summer transfer window.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left Arsenal last month following his fallout with Mikel Arteta.

The striker had not played for the Gunners dating back to the start of December. He has netted five goals from his seven games for Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract this summer and they are yet to commit their future to Arsenal.

The Gunners targeted Dusan Vlahovic in January, but he ended up joining Juventus for a significant fee.

They have also been linked with Calvert-Lewin in recent months.

The 24-year-old has struggled with injuries this season but he shone for Everton in the Premier League last season.

Calvert-Lewin contributed with 21 goals as the Toffees finished tenth in the table under Carlo Ancelotti.

The Englishman is not out of contract until 2025 and Everton are said to be demanding around £60m for their forward.

Groves played over 150 times for Arsenal between 1986 and 1992. He thinks Calvert-Lewin should be signed this summer:

“I don’t think they are going to re-sign Alexandre Lacazette. I am a big fan of Lacazette, the quality he brings players in around him with the physicality,” Groves told the Daily Star.

“Obviously his goalscoring output has dropped substantially over the last 18 months but the money and the wages he is on, I don’t think they will renew for that sort of money.

“I would bring in someone like [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin. I think he would fit in perfectly, his attitude is good, taught by Carlo Ancelotti and off the ball he can close down and press.”

According to reports, Serie A giants Juventus are ‘keeping an eye’ on Lacazette’s situation at Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

Calciomercato (via Caught Offside) are reporting that Juventus are interested in Lacazette. They are looking to bring in an experienced striker who can ‘battle’ with Vlahovic.

The former Fiorentina striker was being targeted by Arsenal prior to his switch to Juventus in January. He has hit the ground running in Turin as he has netted four goals from his first eight games.
