Lee Tomlin is expected to keep his place in the Peterborough team for the visit of the Bluebirds.
Tomlin was restored to the starting XI against Bristol City on Saturday after making a speedy recovery from ankle ligament damage and scored as Posh won 2-1 at Ashton Gate.
The forward was withdrawn with six minutes remaining and complained of soreness in his ankle after the game. He will continue to be assessed but should line up against the Welsh club.
Peterborough picked up no new injuries at the weekend, so David Hibbert and Scott Wootton remain the only absentees.
On-loan Manchester United defender Wootton may need an operation on his injured knee and it is not yet known how long he will be out.
Cardiff are likely to be without striker Kenny Miller for the trip to Peterborough.
Miller has been struggling with a groin problem for the past two-and-a-half weeks, and missed both of Scotland’s Euro 2012 qualifiers during the recent international break as well as the Bluebirds’ 2-2 draw with Ipswich on Saturday.
Cardiff boss Malky Mackay expects him to be in contention for the weekend clash with Barnsley, but the visit to London Road has come too soon for the experienced forward.
Otherwise, Mackay has no new injury worries. Midfielder Craig Conway was withdrawn against Ipswich due to a stomach complaint but is fit and available once again and utility man Darcy Blake is over a calf injury.
