Poch: If Kane asks to leave like Bale, Modric… we’ll see

Mauricio Pochettino has further discussed the future of possible Real Madrid target Harry Kane.

Kane has long been linked with Real after a record-breaking calendar year with Spurs.

The England international outscored both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo with 54 goals, but is still to win a trophy in north London.

Many have wondered whether he would be tempted to the Bernabeu as former Tottenham stars Gareth Bale and Luka Modric were.

Pochettino says he would likely not stand in his way if he asked to leave.

“As Tottenham coach I would say that if Madrid come in with a bid, we don’t want to sell, because he will stay here and they will have to understand that,” Pochettino told El Chiringuito.

“If the player requests to leave, as happened with Modric and Bale… we’ll see what happens.

“Today, that has not happened. I hope that Harry Kane can stay here for many years and provide many goals, wins and a title. That is what we want.”
