Pochettino pokes fun at his own lack of Spurs silverware

Mauricio Pochettino indulged in some banter about his lack of silverware at the London Football Awards.

The Tottenham boss was crowned Premier League Manager of the Year at a ceremony on Thursday evening.

He overcame an eclectic group of nominees, ranging from Charlton’s Lee Bowyer to Watford head coach Javi Gracia, Arsenal Women’s Joe Montemurro and Maurizio Sarri of Chelsea.

Why were only three of the candidates actual Premier League managers? Weird.

Pochettino, perhaps preempting every Twitter reply to the award, poked fun at himself on the podium.

“Finally, I win a trophy,” said the Argentine.

But will he win this Big Weekend against Arsenal? Or join Real Madrid in due course?

That segue though.
