Mauricio Pochettino has named some of his favourite teams to watch, and he is full of praise for Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa.
Pochettino has been out of a job since he left Tottenham in November 2019. The Argentinian has been linked with Newcastle United and several clubs in Europe, but he remains out of work.
This has not stopped him watching football though, as he has continued to keep a close eye on the Premier League.
In an interview with Spanish outlet Cadena COPE, Pochettino singled out Leeds United, Tottenham and Liverpool for specific praise:
“I like to watch Leeds with Bielsa because it is a dizzying football; Tottenham, because there is a lot of love; and Liverpool, because they have talent.”
Pochettino and Bielsa have always had a close relationship. When the former Spurs boss played for Newell’s Old Boys, it was Bielsa who first discovered him and showed faith in him.
The pair have been close ever since. Bielsa has been a key mentor for Pochettino in his career, just like he has been with Pep Guardiola.
Leeds and Bielsa received a lot of praise for their performance against Liverpool last weekend. The newly-promoted side stuck to their style and gave the reigning Premier League champions a really tough game.
The Whites host Fulham on Saturday hoping to get their first three-points since returning to the Premier League.
