Pogba ‘inching closer’ to Man United move – report

Paul Pogba is ‘inching closer’ to joining Manchester United this summer, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

Pogba’s protracted move from Juventus to Old Trafford is expected to be completed within the week – although reports at the weekend claimed that the transfer could ‘drag on’.

The Frenchman is currently enjoying his summer holidays, and has been pictured in Las Vegas with agent Mino Raiola.

According to Sky Sports, the 23-year-old is ‘preparing to travel to England to complete his world-record’ move at the end of his current vacation.

When Sky asked the midfielder for Pogba’s thoughts on his future, the player replied: “We’ll see.”

‘Sources at Old Trafford told Sky Sports News HQ late on Sunday night that the deal is now virtually agreed in principle between the two clubs,’ reads the story from Andy Burton, ‘with personal terms also close to being confirmed between the player and Manchester United.

‘Yet the finer details of both aspects of the transfer – including payment of Raiola’s fee – are yet to be resolved, with negotiations set to continue this week.’

The story does claim that Pogba is ‘preparing to fly to England,’ before a final paragraph which claims that he ‘was due to return to Miami after his weekend in Las Vegas, however it is unknown whether he then travels to Turin or flies straight to Manchester from the United States’. Which is great. And says precisely nothing.

In a further story, reporter James Cooper adds:

“They are inching ever closer. Manchester United are relaxed.

“They think they are going to get their man. If they wanted to go and do a medical in the US – he is currently on holiday there – they could go and do that.

“The player wants to come back to Manchester. The agent is trying to sort out a deal with Juventus. There are all sorts of things payments-wise to sort out and establish but I think it a case of when rather than if.

“Manchester United would like to think they can get the player within the next week so they then have a week to work with him before they begin their Premier League campaign away to Bournemouth.”

It’s like an update, but it isn’t. So yeah.
