Manchester United have reportedly cut their asking price for Paul Pogba ahead of the January transfer window in a bid to be rid of the midfielder.

Mino Raiola’s latest comments have angered the United hierarchy according to The Sun, who claim the club will now ask for ‘just £50m’ for the World Cup winner.

Pogba – who was the world’s most expensive player when United brought him back to Old Trafford from Juventus in 2016 – has started just five Premier League games this season.

The lowered valuation is likely to tempt Juventus, who have been linked with a swap deal.

It will see United lose the best part of £40m from their original £89.3m investment, but with Pogba’s contract expiring in 2022, United don’t believe his form will improve enough for his price to significantly increase.

Therefore, with United keen to cut ties with Pogba’s agent Raiola, selling him in January may prove to be the best option for the club.
