Filip Kiss marked his County debut with a brace as well, with Ben Gordon scoring their other goal shortly after Steven Lawless had netted Thistle’s third in a match that also saw Stuart Kettlewell dismissed for the visitors.
Ross County opened the scoring against run of play when Kiss (23) curled a shot from the edge of the box past Scott Fox to complete a wonderful five-man move.
Thistle levelled just five minutes later though when on-loan Falkirk striker Taylor scored with a low drive, which appeared to take a slight deflection off County defender Scott Boyd after Stephen O’Donnell and Lawless combined to create the opening.
Taylor added his second on 39 minutes as he lost markers Boyd and Brian McLean inside the penalty area to connect with a wonderful Aaron Taylor-Sinclair cross and power his header past Michael Fraser.
And Thistle appeared to be out of sight 90 seconds into the second half when Kallum Higginbotham and Christie Elliott exchanged passes in the County box to set up Lawless to prod home at the near post.
Three minutes later Richie Brittain beat Fox in an aerial challenge, and although Taylor-Sinclair hooked the ball off the line, Gordon smashed home the rebound.
County levelled the game when Kiss (76) latched on to Brittain’s through ball before calmly beating Fox for the second time.
The visitors played the last four minutes with 10 men when substitute Kettlewell slid in dangerously on Ross Forbes to earn himself an instant dismissal just 60 seconds after replacing Gary Glen.
