Arsenal linked Bissouma

Former Premier League striker Darren Bent believes Yves Bissouma is “gettable” for Arsenal this month and they should sign him as he is a “top player”.

Bissouma has been linked with a move away from Brighton in recent weeks. Aston Villa have reportedly joined the race to sign him. Arsenal are said to be among the teams interested in him.

The 25-year-old has been with Brighton since 2018. He joined them from French side Lille.

The Mali international has been a standout player for Graham Potter’s side over the past couple of years.

As quoted by The Metro, Bent has urged the Gunners to sign Bissouma this month:

“I would like to see Arsenal go and get Yves Bissouma from Brighton,” Bent said.

“I really like him, I think he’s a top, top player. He’s gettable as well.

“Him and Partey in the middle of the park, that is what you call protection in front of the back four by the way.

“You let the likes of [Emile] Smith Rowe, [Martin] Odegaard bomb forward.

“If you can Yves Bissouma, I think he can turn into a top player in this league, I really do. I really like him.

“He’s one of those players that can be box-to-box but if you ask him to sit there, he’s comfortable in possession. Yeah he’s a top player.”

Back in September, Ray Parlour called for the Gunners to sign Bissouma:

“I would love to see (Bissouma) at Arsenal, I said that in the transfer window,” Parlour said.

“I think he’s got everything. He’s efficient, he can put his foot on the ball, can put his foot in as well, can pass.

“He probably could score a few more goals but he’s not in that position to score goals.

“He’s the one who’s going to keep everything ticking over. I’m sure Brighton had to sell one of their players and it was Ben White in the end for £50million.

“But I think he’s going to be a top star. He’s only 25 so there’s lots of time as well.
